About FILA Tennis
Tennis is our passion. Our goal: the best possible gear. With FILA, you’re choosing Italian style—whether offCourt or onCourt. A style steeped in history and cherished tradition. For more than half a century, tennis stars worldwide have worn the brand that embodies determination, individuality, and natural elegance like no other.
FILA’s success story began in 1911 in a quiet Italian town at the foot of the Alps. Four brothers supplied the residents of their hometown, Biella, with warm clothing—their vision: a combination of high-quality materials, classic design, and practicality without compromise. This dedication soon made the factory, founded in 1923 and initially producing mainly underwear, famous throughout Italy.
In 1973, the adventure in sports began. It started with the development of the first seamless and elastic T-shirt for tennis players. For the innovative apparel manufacturer FILA, this would henceforth become its calling. The White Line Collection by designer Pier Luigi Rolando was provocative, unconventional, yet simple and honest. It presented authentic sportswear with cosmopolitan charm.
Only the strongest logos tell a story—or so they say. The first sportswear produced by FILA featured the now-iconic F-Box. It was designed by advertising genius Sergio Privitera. He developed a symbol that would carry the company into the future and into the world’s most famous sports venues. The red bar gives the logo a distinctive touch and symbolizes passion, strength, dynamism, purity, and corporate responsibility. The use of the color blue, on the other hand, stands for trustworthiness, reliability, and the commitment
